Students were required to build a tower with a file folder, poster board, and masking tape. Students were also required to participate three other team challenge projects.
Cairo High School accounting students pictured above attended the 28th Annual Accounting Challenge at SIU-Carbondale on January 23, 2026. The event was held at the SIU Student Center Ballrooms where southern Illinois schools competed in individual and team events in accounting concepts.
Students competed in an individual accounting exam competition as well as a team competition. In the team competition, students worked together to create a tower with a file folder, posterboard, and masking tape. Students competed for a variety of scholarships and several door prizes were given away.
