Cairo High School Beta Club attends 67^th Annual Illinois Sr. Beta Convention at the Bank of Springfield in Springfield, Illinois on March 5-6, 2026.  The theme for this year’s convention was “Wired for Success.”  Students competed in a variety of academic and talent competitions.  Krishawn Young won 1^st place in 11^th grade U.S. History, Avanee Wilson won 1^st place in 10^th grade science, Vichai Jangjirawat won 2^nd place in on-site drawing, Aiden Woodworth won 1^st place in 12^th grade social studies, Maharia Baldwin won 1^st place in Creative Writing Division I, and the club won 1^st place in book battle.  The Cairo High School Quiz Bowl Team advanced onto the oral rounds at Illinois Sr. Beta Convention.  The Cairo High School Beta Club is making plans to attend National Sr. Beta Convention at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville in June.
